Xunfei Healthcare Advances Asia-Pacific Healthcare AI Ecosystem with Innovation Hub Agreement in Wonju, South Korea

The NEXT AI 2026 WONJU Global AI Forum was recently held in Wonju, Gangwon State, South Korea. Themed “Medical Meets Physical AI,” the forum was jointly hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Gangwon State, and Wonju City. The Wonju Future Industry Promotion Agency, the Wonju Medical Device Industry Promotion Agency, and iStaging Asia served as co-organizers.

Representatives of leading global companies, including NVIDIA, Supermicro, Zettabyte, ZEISS, Acer Medical, Qisda Group, and Advantech, joined industry experts at the forum. They exchanged views on the practical deployment of healthcare AI, disease prevention, hospital automation, and medical infrastructure development. The discussions also took stock of current industry applications of healthcare AI and explored key issues shaping the sector’s future. As a pioneer in the practical application of healthcare AI across the Asia-Pacific, Xunfei Healthcare was represented by its president, Tao Xiaodong, who was invited to deliver a keynote address. During the forum, he also signed a cooperation agreement with the Wonju Future Industry Promotion Agency.

In his remarks, Tao stressed that healthcare AI must go beyond comparisons of technical specifications. It must address real clinical needs, deliver tangible value in medical practice, and contribute to better public health. “The true measure of healthcare AI is not a large language model’s parameter count, but its feasibility in real-world clinical settings and the clinical outcomes it can deliver.” Xunfei Healthcare has consistently developed its technologies with clinical needs at the forefront. The knowledge base behind its iFLYTEK SPARK Medical LLM (Large Language Model) draws on authoritative medical textbooks, clinical guidelines, and de-identified real-world clinical data. The model is already deployed in key specialties, including cardiology, respiratory medicine, and pediatrics. These technologies support medical consultations, diagnostic decision-making, and prescription assistance in primary care settings and hospitals at different levels. They are also used to assist with medical record documentation, chronic disease management, and local public health policymaking.

A notable industry outcome of the forum was a cooperation agreement signed by Xunfei Healthcare and the Wonju Future Industry Promotion Agency. The two parties aim to jointly establish a globally open “AI Hub of Asia-Pacific” and a regional AI industry hub with distinctive strengths in the Asia-Pacific. Under the agreement, they will deepen cooperation in real-world pilot projects and operations, global network development, commercialization support, and related industry services. Together, these efforts will establish an end-to-end pathway from AI research and validation to commercial deployment.
