AI Empowering Bilingual Communication | Campus Tour Launches for the 4th Global Youth Bilingual Broadcast Announcing and Anchoring Contest

Amid deepening global integration and the ongoing evolution of the new media landscape, bilingual communication, as a vital bond connecting Chinese and global civilizations, and hosts and broadcasters, as important bridges for telling diverse stories, are becoming a key force in promoting cross-cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.

From March 23 to 24, the 4th Global Youth Bilingual Broadcast Announcing and Anchoring Contest held campus outreach events at Huaqiao University (Xiamen Campus) and Xiamen University (Siming Campus), joining students to explore a new chapter in bilingual communication. As an official partner of the contest, iFLYTEK showcased its flagship translation products, leveraging AI to empower young people’s bilingual aspirations and help them break language barriers.

At the event, Cong Fangjun, Associate Professor at the Communication University of China and Director of the Multilingual International Communication Practice Teaching Center at its School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, said: “AI is a new productive tool. It has lowered the barrier to creation, but we must continue to trust in the appeal of authentic imagery—imagery that is alive, human, and grounded in real life. The rapid rise of AIGC has made creative work more efficient and created fresh opportunities for international communication. In the age of digital intelligence, the model of human-machine collaboration is becoming increasingly refined. What sets creators apart is their ability to uncover and conceive compelling stories, connect five millennia of traditional culture with fast-evolving modern technology and the richness of contemporary life, and exercise aesthetic judgment in selecting and shaping AI-generated content.”

Zhou Zhi, Director of Smart Media Solutions at iFLYTEK, shared his views on the integrated development of artificial intelligence and cultural communication: “In this new era of technology-driven transformation, the core competitiveness of bilingual hosts and broadcasters is no longer defined solely by language proficiency and communication skills. It also lies in their command of AI-powered tools, their ability to adapt to cross-cultural communication contexts, and their capacity to translate technological strengths into real value for content communication.”

For over two decades, iFLYTEK has placed independent innovation in core technologies at the heart of its development, building a multilingual, all-scenario, end-to-end intelligent speech and language service system. As a key force driving the digital and intelligent evolution of cross-cultural communication, iFLYTEK is fully supporting the Global Youth Bilingual Host and Broadcaster Competition with flagship products that cover every step of the participant journey, empowering young talent to pursue their dreams with confidence.

SPARK Sonus will provide contestants with dedicated training and complimentary access, using AI to enable an intelligent end-to-end workflow for audiovisual translation and adaptation. This allows participants to easily carry out professional tasks such as generating multilingual subtitles for their competition videos, so they can focus more on content creation and delivery and ensure that each work conveys its cultural essence with precision.

iFLYTEK AI Interpreta will provide professional AI-powered simultaneous interpreting support for the competition’s awards ceremony,   enabling the event’s highlight moments to transcend language barriers and be shared in real time through low-latency, high-accuracy   translation.

As the competition's official translation tool, the iFLYTEK Translate App will be deeply integrated into every cross-language communication scenario throughout the contestant journey, serving as a go-to bilingual communication companion that makes multilingual expression, interaction, and content creation smoother and more confident.

More than introducing students at the two universities to the competition up close, the campus outreach events also invited them to rethink the professional value and mission of bilingual hosts and broadcasters from the perspective of technology and the times. In an increasingly globalized world, there is a growing need for bilingual communication talent with humanity, expertise, and vision—talent that can use language to build bridges between people and cultures. Empowered by iFLYTEK’s AI, this mission can now be realized more efficiently.

Looking ahead, iFLYTEK will continue to advance intelligent technologies and promote deeper integration between AI, bilingual communication, and the global sharing of Chinese culture, helping nurture more outstanding talent in cross-cultural communication.
