iFLYHG Explores AI-Driven Green Transformation of the Agrifood Industry at the 2026 World AgriFood Innovation Conference

From September 17 to 19, the 2026 World AgriFood Innovation Conference (WAFI 2026) was held at the Jinhai Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pinggu, Beijing. As a founding member of the Global AgriFood Innovation Alliance (GAIA), Shanghai iFLYHG Technology Co., Ltd., a specialized subsidiary of iFLYTEK dedicated to smart agriculture, participated in the conference. Drawing on iFLYTEK’s full-stack AI technologies, iFLYHG showcased end-to-end solutions spanning smart farming, sustainable agrifood management, and animal-welfare-oriented smart livestock farming. The company also joined participants from China and around the world in exploring how AI can advance the modernization of the agrifood industry, support low-carbon and green development, and enable the adoption of standardized animal-welfare practices.

Li Junfeng, Vice President of iFLYTEK and President of iFLYHG, was invited to speak at Plenary Session II, “AI-Driven Global Agrifood Transformation.”

To address common challenges such as imbalances in global agrifood production capacity, excessive resource consumption, insufficient standardization in farming, and gaps in animal-welfare systems, the Global AgriFood Innovation Alliance (GAIA) was officially launched during WAFI 2026. The Alliance aims to bring together global resources across industry, academia, research, and innovation; build a safe, green, efficient, and sustainable modern agrifood ecosystem; promote closer integration across agrifood value chains, supply chains, and innovation networks; and support the sustainable transformation of global agrifood systems.

As a founding member of GAIA, iFLYHG is using AI as a key enabler of agrifood transformation. It is helping shape the Alliance’s governance framework and technical standards, advance international cooperation, and explore practical, deployable, and replicable AI solutions in agrifood safety, green development, and animal welfare.

As iFLYHG has deepened its presence in smart agriculture, it has drawn on core cognitive AI technologies including the iFLYTEK SPARK LLM, multimodal visual perception, AI-powered big-data analytics, and Super AI Agents, its proprietary agentic AI system. Focusing on upgrading the entire agrifood value chain, it has built an integrated, end-to-end system spanning smart livestock farming, sustainable management, food safety, and low-carbon traceability. These capabilities help improve quality, increase efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and strengthen safety across the agrifood industry.

In agrifood safety, iFLYHG has built an end-to-end traceability and AI-powered risk management system. Through real-time data monitoring, AI-driven analysis of farming operations, and early risk warnings, it precisely manages risks across production, processing, and distribution. This strengthens food-safety protections for grain, livestock, and poultry products at the source, helps keep food safe for consumers, and supports stable and secure global agrifood supply chains.

In green and low-carbon agriculture, iFLYHG uses AI to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and promote circular agriculture. To address the high energy consumption and low resource efficiency of traditional agriculture and animal husbandry, it deploys digital approaches such as precision feeding and management powered by Super AI Agents to reduce energy consumption in livestock farming and improve resource-use efficiency. This supports the transition from extensive production models to more intensive, greener, and more sustainable ones, advances China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals in agriculture, and aligns with the global shift toward greener agrifood systems.

In animal-welfare-oriented smart livestock farming, rail-mounted inspection robots monitor the growth, behavior, and health of livestock and poultry in real time. Combined with intelligent environmental control systems, they enable precise management of temperature, humidity, ventilation, stocking density, and other key indicators, creating a comfortable, healthy, and natural environment for livestock and poultry. An abnormal-sound monitoring system, together with a foundation model for livestock farming, supports early disease screening, recognition of stress-related behavior, and precision feeding, helping reduce stress responses and disease incidence. Together, these capabilities support healthy growth, advance science-based and standardized animal-welfare practices, improve product quality, and create integrated value across animal welfare, farming efficiency, product quality, and environmental sustainability, marking an important step toward putting animal-welfare-oriented smart livestock farming into practice.

iFLYHG’s smart livestock farming, animal-welfare monitoring and management, and smart production and operations management solutions have been deployed at scale by major agribusiness and livestock groups across China. These deployments have become leading examples of how AI can support agrifood safety, green and low-carbon development, and animal welfare, earning broad recognition from industry and market stakeholders.

During the conference, the iFLYHG team held in-depth discussions with leading international research institutions, including the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), as well as Chinese agricultural authorities and leading agribusiness and livestock companies. Discussions focused on strengthening global agrifood safety, advancing green and low-carbon agricultural technologies, developing standards for smart animal-welfare management, and promoting cross-border cooperation in agricultural science and technology. The team shared practical experience in agricultural innovation and helped foster the exchange of high-quality resources and technology, as well as joint standards development across the global agrifood industry.

Li Junfeng said that, as a founding member of GAIA, iFLYHG will build on WAFI’s role as an international platform for agricultural science, technology, and innovation, while upholding its development philosophy: “Empowering Agriculture with Technology, Advancing Sustainable Agrifood Systems, and Promoting Animal Welfare through Smart Solutions.”

Looking ahead, iFLYHG will continue to make technological innovation its core driver, focusing on agrifood safety, green development, and animal welfare. It will expand AI applications across the agricultural sector, strengthen its end-to-end digital service capabilities, and work with global industry partners to build a safe, green, intelligent, and sustainable modern agrifood ecosystem, helping create a better world with AI.
