iFLYTEK Featured at UN Chinese Language Day 2026, Breaking Language Barriers and Bringing Cultures Closer

2026 marks the 80th anniversary of Chinese being designated as one of the official languages of the United Nations. On April 13, the 2026 UN  Chinese Language Day event, hosted by the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, was held at UN Headquarters in New York. iFLYTEK  was invited to participate in this special occasion.

This year’s UN Chinese Language Day was held under the theme “Ink in Harmony, Writing a Shared Chapter Together.” At the event, guided by its vision of “Breaking Language Barriers, Enabling Dialogue Among Civilizations,” iFLYTEK created an immersive experience journey titled The River of Dialogue. The company showcased a full range of AI technologies and products, including an AI education robot, an AI calligraphy desk, iFLYTEK Conference All-in-One, an AI Translation Screen, iFLYTEK AI Glasses, iFLYTEK AI Translation Earbuds, and the iFLYTEK Dual-Screen Translator 2.0. Together, these innovations created a technology-enabled space where civilizations could be experienced, written language could be explored in tangible ways, and communication extended beyond borders. Powered by self-developed AI technologies, iFLYTEK is building a digital bridge for Chinese to reach the world and for civilizations to learn from one another.

How Civilization Speaks: Ancient Treasures Come to Life

As the centerpiece of iFLYTEK’s showcase at this year’s UN Chinese Language Day, the iFLYTEK AI Education Robot took center stage. On display  were cultural treasures closely associated with the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar, including the Bronze Chariots and Horses from the  Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang—hailed as the “crown of bronze ware”—the iconic Galloping Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow, celebrated for its  perfect balance of strength and grace, and Xu Beihong’s Galloping Horse, alive with energy and spirit.

When a guest places an artifact in the recognition zone, the robot draws on a deeply optimized image classification model to identify it with precision and bring to life the history and cultural meaning behind it. Guests can listen to a complete AI-generated interpretation and also ask follow-up questions based on their own interests, exploring the cultural significance of each artifact through an extended interactive dialogue.

Built for the AI curriculum of the National Center for Educational Technology (NCET), the iFLYTEK AI Education Robot is a humanoid teaching device designed for the classroom. Equipped with high-precision sensors and a versatile set of AI capabilities, it supports hardware connectivity, external expansion, and visual programming to create immersive, interactive learning experiences for primary and secondary students.The artifact-recognition showcase presented at the United Nations was inspired by the real curiosity of Chinese children in AI class. The idea—and its first prototype—came from their own hands-on exploration. 

 How Writing Reaches Us: The AI Calligraphy Desk Makes Chinese Characters Tangible

 The AI Calligraphy Desk offers an immersive, interactive experience centered on five defining values of Chinese civilization: harmony, trust, propriety,   wisdom, and unity. Displayed on the tabletop with bilingual Chinese-English explanations, these concepts make the cultural meaning behind the   characters clear at a glance.

Participants were invited to try their hand at calligraphy on the digital writing screen and upload a photo of their work. AI provided real-time feedback, evaluating stroke movement, character balance, and writing pressure, then generating a score out of 100 together with tailored suggestions for improvement. With warm prompts such as “This horizontal stroke could be a little flatter” and “The base of this xin character is very steady,” the experience guided each participant in an intuitive and encouraging way. Stroke by stroke, diplomats from around the world and UN staff experienced the unique beauty of Chinese, where sound, form, and meaning are closely intertwined. At the end, a seal bearing the character yi was stamped onto each piece, turning Chinese from something seen on the page into something more deeply understood.

 Powered by AI, Chinese is no longer a distant cultural symbol, but a living expression of civilization—something people can touch, understand, and   pass on from one generation to the next.

 How Understanding Happens: Multilingual AI Translation Breaks Down Language Barriers 

 In the cross-language communication experience zone, iFLYTEK’s full-stack AI translation portfolio attracted significant attention, highlighting its   strengths in accurate, real-time translation across a wide range of scenarios—from formal multilateral meetings to more casual social interactions.
