iFLYTEK Research Institute's Top-Tier International Journal Paper Wins IEEE SPS Best Paper Award
Recently, the IEEE Signal Processing Society (IEEE SPS) announced the recipients of its 2025 annual awards. A research paper titled "Pre-training with Whole Word Masking for Chinese BERT", authored by the iFLYTEK Research Institute, was honored with the IEEE SPS Best Paper Award.
The IEEE SPS is one of the major societies under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and its Best Paper Award is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious international academic honors in the field of signal processing.
The award-winning paper was published in the leading international journal IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, a top-tier publication in the speech and language research community. To date, the paper has received over 1,900 citations. Following the open-sourcing of the related research, the project has garnered more than 10,000 stars on GitHub, reflecting broad academic and industry adoption as well as strong community engagement.
