Xunfei Healthcare Takes Center Stage at WAIC 2025, Leading Development of 10 Core Sub-Standards for the “Standard System for Intelligent Agents in the Healthcare Industry”

On July 26, the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance kicked off in Shanghai under the theme “Global Solidarity in the AI Era.” Within the medical field, large-scale AI models are transitioning from proof-of-concept stages to full-scale industrial adoption. As a result, establishing a scientific, authoritative, and practical standardization system for medical AI has become a major priority across the sector. In this context, the WAIC forum on “AI Transformation · Future Health” was held on the morning of July 28 at the Shanghai Expo Center. The event focused on critical challenges such as the industrialization of medical AI and the development of standardized frameworks.

At the conference, the Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance and the Smart Healthcare Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association jointly introduced the “Standard System for Intelligent Agents in the Healthcare Industry.” This initiative aims to create a tailored standards framework that meets the specific needs of the healthcare sector, ensuring the effective and productive application of large models and intelligent agents in medical and health services. It also seeks to offer scientific guidance to healthcare institutions in selecting AI products, assist technology companies in developing medical AI solutions, and support regulatory bodies in policy-making.

Guided by real-world clinical needs, the “Standard System for Intelligent Agents in the Healthcare Industry” establishes a full-stack framework spanning application, platform, and computing power layers, with use cases covering operating rooms, radiology departments, outpatient services, and scientific research. As a core drafting organization, Xunfei Healthcare is leading the development of ten sub-standards. These include intelligent agents for health consultation, medical record generation and quality control, intelligent voice follow-up, pre-diagnosis, and medical imaging. The company plans to release four of these sub-standards ahead of schedule in 2025, focusing on health consultation, medical record generation, medical record quality control, and intelligent voice follow-up. Wang Xiao, General Manager of Xunfei Healthcare’s Shanghai Region, attended the launch ceremony.

As a pioneer in the innovative application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, Xunfei Healthcare has been collaborating since July 2023 with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and over 20 other institutions to develop a technical standards system for medical large models. This initiative aims to establish standards in three key areas: formulation, evaluation and testing, and ecosystem development—all tailored to the specific demands of the healthcare industry. In a related achievement, the iFLYTEK SPARK Medical Large Model has become the first in China to pass the national technical assessment for medical large-model applications, marking significant progress in its professionalism, standardization, and safety.
