iFLYTEK Delegation Met with Chinese Ambassador to Egypt

An iFLYTEK delegation led by Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Duan Dawei recently met with the Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, Liao Liqiang, as part of the company's effort to further market expansion in Egypt and the broader Middle East and North Africa regions.

During the meeting, Mr. Duan discussed iFLYTEK's 2020 joint R&D project with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to develop Arabic speech recognition, speech synthesis, and Chinese-Arabic machine translation capabilities. Through the partnership, iFLYTEK and the MCIT were able to integrate their respective strengths in A.I. expertise and Arabic systems to transform theoretical research into practical applications.

Duan highlighted the significant steps made by iFLYTEK in its partnership with the MCIT and the company's role in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 over the past three years. Mr. Duan also emphasized the practical applications of iFLYTEK's technologies in fields such as education and medical care and the company’s technical involvement in the upcoming international sports event to be held in Budapest in August.

Ambassador Liao expressed his support for iFLYTEK's cooperation with Egypt, recognizing the significance of strengthening the company's ties with Arab countries in artificial intelligence. He added that the Chinese Embassy in Egypt will continue to support iFLYTEK in this endeavor.

Ambassador Liao noted that while China-Egypt cooperation has traditionally focused on infrastructure construction, there are emerging opportunities for high-tech collaboration. He emphasized the importance of language as a medium for cultural exchange and the significance of intelligent speech and language processing research in furthering the application of A.I. technology in China and Egypt.
