iFLYTEK Showcases AI-Driven Innovation at the China International Conference on Basic Education, Highlights AI's Role in Advancing High-Quality Education Development

From December 13 to 14, the inaugural China International Conference on Basic Education (CICBE 2025) brought together educators, researchers, policymakers, and technology leaders from China and abroad in Shanghai.

The forum was co-hosted by the Chinese Society of Education, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai Normal University, and the Jiading District People’s Government of Shanghai. Centered on the theme Artificial Intelligence Development and Educational Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities. the conference aimed to explore new pathways for the development of basic education in the age of artificial intelligence, fostering dialogue across the education and technology sectors.

iFLYTEK was invited to participate as a conference partner and provided technical support for the event. Wu Xiaoru, President of iFLYTEK, delivered a keynote address. At the exhibition area, the company showcased four flagship solutions—SPARK Smart Blackboard, SPARK AI Grader, Curiosity Window, and its AI General Education Program—offering a comprehensive demonstration of how AI is being applied in practice to empower basic education.

During the keynote session, Wu Xiaoru, President of iFLYTEK, delivered a keynote address titled Exploring Innovative Practices in Integrating Artificial Intelligence with Education.”

In his speech, Wu noted that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence is reshaping the requirements for talent development. In response, iFLYTEK is actively advancing the integration of AI and education by upgrading intelligent classroom terminals and developing personalized AI learning companions. These efforts center on continuous learning-data collection and intelligent assessment, while also promoting AI general education to strengthen foundational AI literacy.

Wu highlighted that iFLYTEK's related solutions have already been widely adopted in more than 50,000 primary and secondary schools across China, serving over 130 million teachers and students. These applications have played a significant role in reducing teachers' workload while improving teaching efficiency.

Looking ahead, Wu emphasized that iFLYTEK will collaborate with global partners to jointly develop education-focused large language models and to co-create a new educational ecosystem for the AI era.

In the exhibition area, iFLYTEK presented four flagship solutions—SPARK Smart Blackboard, SPARK AI Grader, Curiosity Window, and its AI General Education Program.

The display drew strong interest from officials of China's Ministry of Education, along with experts and delegates from around the world, many of whom engaged in extended discussions and on-site consultations.

The SPARK Smart Blackboard developed by iFLYTEK is a next-generation intelligent interactive teaching terminal, powered by breakthroughs in the iFLYTEK SPARK Large Language Model (X1.5) and co-created with leading institutions such as the China National Institute of Education Sciences and South China Normal University.

Designed as an integrated hardware–software solution, the SPARK Smart Blackboard delivers comprehensive upgrades across six core capabilities: AI-optimized audiovisual balance, natural multimodal interaction, digital handwriting and boardwork, multimodal classroom interaction, scenario-based virtual avatars, and multimodal classroom recording and analytics. Together, these features aim to make teaching more efficient, more equitable, and more engaging.

During the demonstration, iFLYTEK staff explained how the system's visualized mathematics tools can convert mathematical formulas into dynamic graphs in real time, allowing students to clearly observe how parameter changes affect functions. In spatial geometry, teachers can generate three-dimensional cross-sections with a single click and examine them from multiple angles, turning abstract mathematical reasoning into intuitive, visual experiences and helping address long-standing learning challenges.

Many visitors commented that the technology significantly simplifies mathematics instruction and makes complex geometric concepts easier for students to understand.

A moment of surprise quickly drew attention at the assignment-grading demonstration. Visitors watched as grading was completed almost instantly—prompting audible reactions to the system's speed and accuracy.

In this scenario, the SPARK AI Grader P30 stood out as a dedicated desktop AI solution designed specifically for subject-based teaching teams. The device integrates scanning, automated grading, and printing into a single workflow and supports a wide range of assignments, including school-based materials, supplementary exercises, and open-ended homework.

Beyond objective questions, the system performs step-by-step, fine-grained evaluation of subjective responses, including Chinese and English essays. It analyzes learning data at both group and individual levels, automatically generating learning reports and instructional feedback materials. These capabilities significantly streamline teachers' grading, lesson preparation, one-on-one guidance, and student revision, helping reduce workload while improving instructional efficiency.

Another highlight of the exhibition was Curiosity Window, an interactive learning solution powered by an education-specific large model and digital human technology. The platform features AI-generated virtual personas of more than ten renowned scientists and cultural figures from China and abroad, including Albert Einstein and Li Bai.

Through voice-based interaction and engaging question-and-answer experiences, Curiosity Window encourages curiosity-driven learning and exploration. Designed as an accessible, playful entry point into scientific thinking, the solution creates an always-available learning environment that students can explore anytime, anywhere—offering an innovative approach to science education in primary and secondary schools.

The AI General Education Solution is designed to support artificial intelligence literacy across all stages of basic education—from primary to lower and upper secondary levels. It offers an integrated framework that combines a teaching platform, a structured curriculum, and hands-on experimental modules.

The solution specifically addresses one of the key challenges in AI education at the K–12 level: the shortage of qualified teachers and instructional resources. By providing standardized content, practical tools, and scalable implementation models, it enables schools to deliver AI education more effectively and consistently.

Currently, the solution has been deployed at a regional level in multiple areas, including Beijing, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. It now covers nearly 20 provincial-level regions across China, serving more than 1,200 schools nationwide. Through large-scale adoption, the program supports the broad and equitable rollout of AI education in primary and secondary schools, while strengthening AI literacy among both teachers and students.
