"Light Up · AIGC Autism Public Art Exhibition" Launches: iFLYTEK Collaborates with Autistic Children, Using AI as a Brush to Paint a Starry River

When we gaze at the night sky, the stars shimmer like gems against the dark canvas, each radiating its own unique brilliance. The inner world of autistic children is much like this vast starry expanse—quiet on the surface, yet brimming with unspoken thoughts and boundless imagination, vibrant and full of color. On April 2, coinciding with the 18th World Autism Awareness Day, the "Light Up · AIGC Autism Public Art Exhibition" made its public debut at Sky Screen East Street, Harmony Times Square, Suzhou.

The exhibition was organized under the guidance of the Suzhou Association for Science and Technology and the Suzhou Industrial Park Social Affairs Bureau. It was hosted by iFLYTEK (Suzhou) Technology Co., Ltd., the Suzhou Industrial Park Star Children’s Project Youth Service Center, and the China Computer Federation (CCF), with the CCF Suzhou Member Activity Center serving as the organizer. Co-organizers included the Jinji Lake Sub-district Office of Suzhou Industrial Park, the Suzhou Autism Research Association, and the Suzhou Industrial Park Social Organization Federation.

Centered around the unique medium of painting, the exhibition showcases selected artworks by autistic children from Suzhou. A specially curated animated display, based on the children’s paintings, was projected onto the sky screen of Harmony Times Square, transforming into a flowing river of stars that illuminated Suzhou’s night sky.

Students from the International Department of Suzhou High School utilized iFLYTEK’s AI tools, particularly the text-to-image generation feature of the iFLYTEK SPARK Large Model, to collaboratively reinterpret the children’s artworks. They transformed two-dimensional paintings into inductive, interactive installations, bringing the concept of "Children Help Children" to life and enabling the voices of autistic children to truly "step" into urban spaces. This interaction not only provided students with a deeper understanding of the autism community but also allowed the children to feel greater support and recognition from their peers.

Technology doesn’t just reshape life in grand ways — it can also serve as a bridge of warmth, guiding us into the inner worlds of these "Star Children". Since 2024, iFLYTEK Suzhou has been actively engaging with autistic children, opening its AI exhibition hall to host public science outreach tours. Through interactive activities, they’ve explored the unique "planets" within each child’s mind. This exhibition aims to let more people appreciate the artistic talents of autistic children and the transformative power of AI. Moving forward, iFLYTEK will continue exploring how AI can support special-needs communities, uncovering the "small but meaningful" social value of technology to assist those in need.
