Luo Fengming, President of Sichuan University West China Hospital, Tao Xiaodong, President of iFLYHEALTH, and Zhou Yuefeng, Vice President of Huawei and President of Data Storage Product Line, represented the three parties in signing the cooperation agreement. Huang Jin, Executive Vice President of Sichuan University West China Hospital, presided over the signing ceremony. Tian Yunhui, Deputy Director General of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department, Li Xinhua, Deputy Director General of Sichuan Provincial Health Commission, Su Ping, counsel at level 1 of Sichuan Provincial Economy and Information Technology Department, Liu Lunxu, Executive Vice President of Sichuan University West China Hospital; Lu Xiaoliang, Executive President of iFLYHEALTH, and Guo Hongbin, General Manager of Huawei Sichuan-Tibet Government-Corporate Business, were present and witnessed the signing. Per the agreement, the three parties will leverage their respective resources and technical expertise to engage in in-depth cooperation in critical areas such as innovating medical service models, enhancing the medical experience, and implementing medical large model technology. The collaboration aims to drive the advancement of artificial intelligence in the medical sector and elevate the standard of public healthcare.

Luo Fengming addressed the signing ceremony, emphasising the pivotal role of artificial intelligence for driving a new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. West China Hospital is capitalising on the growth opportunities presented by “AI+ medical health”, steadily broadening the application scope of AI large models from streamlining registration processes to enhancing guidance and medical assistance, medical report interpretation, and personalised health management. Artificial intelligence now stands as a cornerstone in West China Hospital’s endeavours to forge a new development paradigm and cultivate a fresh competitive edge. With a solid groundwork of collaboration already established between West China Hospital and the two companies, the three parties will uphold the principle of “constructing bridges of cooperation, laying down pathways of service, and drafting blueprints for development” in the future. Leveraging their respective areas of expertise, they will persistently explore pathways for high-quality advancement in smart healthcare to offer industry-tested experience and comprehensive artificial intelligence solutions to facilitate the establishment of digital and intelligent “future hospitals”.

In his speech, Tao Xiaodong reflected on the collaboration of iFLYHEALTH with Sichuan University West China Hospital and Huawei. On one front, iFLYHEALTH smart hospital solutions, such as Smart Medical Guide System, internet hospital medical history collection system, and Smart Follow-up System, have been successfully implemented at West China Hospital, which have significantly enhanced the efficiency of medical staff and optimised the overall medical experience for patients. On another front, iFLYHEALTH and Huawei jointly introduced an integrated hardware and software smart medical assistant, which has already been deployed at West China Hospital and will undergo model training. Tao Xiaodong emphasised that the trilateral collaboration is a perfect fit, aligning with the right timing, favourable circumstances, and synergy among the parties involved.

Zhou Yuefeng said that the utilisation of artificial intelligence is significantly reshaping the mode and efficacy of medical services. Absence of data means absence of AI. Efficient, secure, and reliable data storage not only forms the basis of artificial intelligence applications but also serves as the wellspring for harnessing the value of data. Huawei will focus on the medical landscape, persistently constructing pioneering data infrastructure and solutions. The company aims to delve deeply into the intrinsic value of medical data, facilitating the integrated development of medical practices and artificial intelligence.

Tian Yunhui, Li Xinhua, and Su Ping extended congratulations on behalf of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department, Sichuan Provincial Health Commission, and Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department respectively. They also expressed robust policy support for the trilateral cooperation, creating favourable conditions to foster more industry-academia-research collaborative achievements. The aim is to cultivate a distinct medical artificial intelligence brand with Sichuan’s unique characteristics, contributing to the vibrant growth of China’s healthcare sector.
