History

iFLYTEK was founded in June 1999 based on research originally conducted in the National Intelligent computer R & D Center and the Human-Machine Speech Communication Laboratory of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The company’s principal products were a Chinese Text-to-speech engine and related software applications. IFLYTEK has since grown to become one of the backbone software companies in the China Torch Program and the only speech technology company to have earned the title “Industrialization Base for the China National Hi Tech R & D (863) Program”

Text to Speech (TTS), or speech synthesis, is highly advanced technology in the field of information processing. Its primary function is to convert text information into audible voice, in other words, to let machines talk like human beings. TTS is the key technology used in realizing human-machine speech communication, and establishing dialogue systems.
IFLYTEK has developed patented, award-winning Chinese speech synthesis technology to guarantee and cement its leading role in the speech industry. The KD2000 Text-to-speech system developed by IFLYTEK a national Science and technology progress award 2nd class and the provincial science and technology progress 1st class honor.

Chinese TTS

From large/cluster text to speech systems for CTI applications to tiny TTS engines for embedded devices. IFLYTEK is dedicated to providing clearer, more eloquent and more natural sounding synthesized voices on various systems including specific systems databases for specific applications and improving overall system efficiency.

Multilingual TTS

Interphonic CE is a state of the art multilingual TTS system that can smoothly and naturally read Chinese, English and even a mixture of the two languages. There is no uncomfortable skipping, pausing or voice changing in the synthesized speech output. The system has many applications ranging from Voicemail to reading news information on web pages.

TTS Services

We provide system integration and technical support services for all our TTS solutions. We have a telecommunication information service center, an enterprise Call center, and enterprise customer service center and a voice portal all in place to ensure full time commitment to our clients. We are expanding this service as our business expands, improving service quality while increasing efficiency to lower costs.

TTS Chips

System integration hardware. TTS chips can produce high quality synthesized speech with low system resource consuming and can be used in a wide range of embedded devices.

Distributed Speech Synthesis (DSS)

Distributing speech technology in wireless data communication. In the fast growing wireless data & application market, speech recognition and synthesis will be a crucial technology data ingredient to enhance the usage of wireless data application and enhancing the user experience. Furthermore, a distributed computing model is a perfect fit to the next generation mobile communications networks such as GPRS and 3G, taking advantage of both growing computing power on the client side, and increasing network bandwidth.
