Technology Overview

Speaker recognition, also known as voiceprint recognition, is a technology which automatically determines the identity of a speaker based on voice parameters in the voice waveform reflecting physiological and behavioral characteristics of the speaker.
InterVeri (iFLYTEK Speaker Verifier) is a professional voiceprint recognition engine launched by iFLYTEK to meet the increasing market demand and value-added applications in the security field. It compares the speaker’s voice with the voiceprints registered in the database, checks and verifies the speaker’s identity, and determines whether the voice matches the voiceprint of the speaker or another person in a group. Voiceprint recognition delivers high security performance comparable to other biological recognition technologies (such as fingerprint, palm print, and iris identification). In addition, the technology requires only a telephone set and a microphone, and does not need any special equipment. The data collection is convenient. Therefore, it is the simplest, securest, and most reliable and cost-effective identity recognition method. The speaker’s voice can be recognized securely at any time based on the unique voiceprint. It is the only contactless biological recognition technology which can be used for remote control over a telephone channel.

Position in the Industry

InterVeri (iFLYTEK Speaker Verifier) is a professional voiceprint recognition engine launched by iFLYTEK to meet the increasing market demand and value-added applications in the security field. iFLYTEK has made remarkable progress in the voiceprint recognition field in recent years. In June 2008, iFLYTEK ranked the top in the NIST Speaker Recognition Evaluation (SRE) by winning two first places and one third place in three key indexes, which secured iFLYTEK’s world leading position in the speaker recognition field.
